The Pledge
Our way of farming is a daily pledge to create a more sustainable world for all of us. From reducing water usage to promoting soil health to limiting pesticides, we are committed to doing what is right for our environment, our employees and our community. Every Metz Road wine is born from our own certified sustainable vineyard and winery.
The Sustainable Way
A combination of sustainable practices helps to enhance our vineyard and protect the environment. Our winery is powered entirely by renewable wind energy, generated by a 400-foot-tall wind turbine that also supplies power to homes in the surrounding community. In the vineyard, we use 100% drip irrigation to minimize water usage, and we plant cover crops to naturally boost soil health and prevent erosion. We implement low-impact methods to control pests, while promoting beneficial insects and letting natural microbiological activity flourish.
Seal of Approval
Riverview Vineyard is certified sustainable by the California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance, a rigorous statewide program that ensures a winery’s dedication to continuous improvement in sustainable winegrowing. We’ve extended our commitment even further with certification from Global G.A.P. (Good Agricultural Practice), an international standard-bearer for environmental responsibility and safe and sustainable agriculture.
