Scheid Family Wines

Since its founding in 1972 by Al Scheid, Scheid Family Wines has been committed to growing the highest quality grapes from the Monterey AVA.  With 10 estate vineyards covering a 70-mile span, the array of soils and microclimates give us an incredible selection of wines to work with from vintage to vintage.  While our namesake label, Scheid Vineyards, focuses on a broad set of varietals and blending across our estate vineyards to craft wines that exhibit elegance, richness and authenticity, our Metz Road project was born of our desire to craft small lots that express the unique terroir of a single vineyard site.  With just two limited production varietals, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, Metz Road is quite focused in its identity, but stays true to the core value of Scheid Family Wines that great wines are made in the vineyard.
